What Not To Do While In the Holy Land

July 26, 2022by Mitchell Jensen

Traveling to the Holy Land can allow you to see the Mediterranean Sea, many beautiful beaches, and the holiest sites of the Bible. It is a journey of faith, history, and cultural discovery. However, there are important cultural and religious considerations to keep in mind to ensure a respectful and meaningful experience.

Dress modestly when visiting religious sites—shoulders and knees covered is the norm. Avoid photographing people without permission, especially in Orthodox areas. Be mindful of the Sabbath (Friday evening to Saturday evening) when many businesses are closed and public transport may be limited in some areas.

Stay informed about local guidelines and listen to your tour guide. With a little awareness, your trip will be both safe and enriching.
